Yanjie
Hi! My name is Yanjie.

I am currently a Service Designer with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), essentially the British foreign affairs ministerial department, where I drive design and innovation projects with a focus on British embassies and consulates. In this role, I apply my skills to deliver impactful solutions.

I used to be a lecturer, inspiring young minds to change the world through design, at Singapore Polytechnic, Media, Arts & Design School (MAD). As the course chair for the Experience & Product Design (XPD) Specialisation, I led my fellow educators to ensure effective course delivery, relevance, and holistic student development.

Trained as an industrial designer, my expertise transcends various design disciplines. Notably, I served as the Design Lead for UB+, an audio startup and directed the design team behind the Bukit Brown Wayfinder.

I am highly empathetic with a strong ability to derive insights from data and am a firm believer of the need to use one’s skills and resources to make the world a better place. Design, to me, is a tool for solving challenges and evoking emotions and effective design should create positive sentiments.

Let’s connect and collaborate!
