Personally Speaking Exhibition

Teamwork with Genine Loo,
as part of Studio Sonder

Personally Speaking is a visual arts project that explores the stories of caregiving for people with special needs, mental illness, and the elderly. Eight Singapore artists have been inspired by the personal joys and challenges of caregivers, shared with them by people of all walks of life, including parents, children, teachers, social workers and healthcare professionals.

The exhibition was held at three venues: Oasis Terraces, Jurong Regional Library and Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film.

The overall direction of the exhibition was using pale coloured wood for the frames, coupled with fabric panels, to create a sense of lightness and openness.

The exhibition was also designed to be interactive, allowing visitors to express their views on caregiving, as well as a form of data collection for Objectifs.

Each artist was also consulted on the best way to display their works, which were of a myriad range, from sculptures to installation artworks to interactive spaces.
